He is now far from the days of his farming life in Pampanga, or the music he started making in his room. apl.de.ap is a singer-songwriter-performer of international hiphop group The Black Eyed Peas.

Apart from making hits like "Where is the Love," Boom Boom Pow," "I Gotta Feeling" etc., apl brings in his Pinoy roots to the group’s music like he did in "Bebot." As a group, they earned over 87 awards and 116 other nominations from internationally acclaimed award giving bodies like Billboard Music Awards, Grammy’s, Teen Choice Awards and American Music Awards.

"The Voice is the biggest reality singing show in the whole wide world. Ang bobongga ng mga coaches like my bestfriend will.i.am in the UK, Usher in the US, I mean it's an honor to be a part of it."

For someone so popular, some people ask why he keeps on going back to his roots "I'm a Filipino and I'm proud to represent the Philippines. We have so many talented Filipinos here, I want all the talented Filipino singers be heard all over the world." apl concludes.

Trivia[]

  • Due to a sight problem, apl.de.ap has a tablet attached to his seat that will help him see the performer better. It will only activate if he presses his "I WANT YOU" button in the blind auditions.[1]
  • apl.de.ap is the second Black Eyed Peas member to be a coach on The Voice franchise, after will.i.am who is a coach in the UK version.
